The river Sira flows from north to south in Sirdal, and here you will find many nice fishing spots.

Everyone over the age of 16 must buy a fishing license to fish in Sirdal. Both fishing maps and fishing licenses can be purchased at the Tourist Information at Kvæven, GP at Svartevatn and Fjellbutikken in Suleskard. At Tonstad, fishing licenses can be purchased at Tonstad Motorservice. Fishing licenses can also be purchased via SMS or with this link :.

The fishing map contains a description of seven areas in Sirdal. Njardarheim, Øyarvatn, Sira, Store Kvihei, Storavatn, Mydland and Øksendal.

If you are fishing with small children, these areas can be recommended:

The water found at Hulderheimen, where our water park and Høyt & Lavt Sirdal is located, is called Beinesvatnet. Here you can fish at any time! Fishing is not allowed near the pier and beach, but feel free to rent a canoe with us and paddle across the water to find the best fishing spots!

Sinnes and the surrounding area

If you have children with you, it is recommended to take the trip to Sinnesvatnet where you will find a small sandy beach right by the bridge near the exit from Ålsheia Ski Center. The fish in Sinnesvatnet are not very big, but there are many of them.

Tonstad and the surrounding area

If you are going fishing at Tonstad, it is recommended to try it down in Bjønnhøl. Bjønnhøl is located about 1 km from the industrial area at Tonstad, and you will find a small driveway, with space for a car, on the left side when you follow fv 468 north from Tonstad center. Here you can park and walk a short distance north on the right side of the road. On the right side of the guardrail, you then see a trampled path that you follow down until you reach a sandy beach. This is a perfect fishing spot if you want to bring your barbecue and play on the beach. Remember to leave the beach the way you would want to find it yourself.

At Tonstad it is also possible to fish on the beach. Coming from the south, drive north on fv 468 towards Sinnes before turning into the sports stadium and Sirdal Kulturhus. Here you park and walk towards the river which is right behind the artificial turf pitch.
